The Consulate General of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in New York state celebrated Martyrdom week

The Consulate General of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in New York state celebrated Martyrdom week.
The ceremony began with the recitation of holy Qur’an. This was followed by remarks from Mr. Zalgai Sajad, Consul General of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan-New York, who praised the struggles and bravery of the country’s martyrs over last four decades. He stated, Afghanistan owes its independence and freedom to their struggles.
A number of participants then spoke on behalf of the Afghan community in New York. The also praised the sacrifices of the country’s martyrs for their freedom.
The ceremony concluded with a wish for peace and stability in Afghanistan. Participants prayed for the country’s martyrs, as well as those who lost their family members and loved ones during the covid-19 pandemic.
